Who We Are

The AIP BIPOC Network is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting Black, Indigenous, and People of Color living with autoimmune diseases.

Our mission is to improve the quality of life of the BIPOC Autoimmune Community through Awareness, Advocacy, Action, Assessment, and Alignment.

We operate through a dual approach that addresses both systemic health barriers and individual wellness needs:

  1. Access, Inclusion, and Prevention (AIP) – Ensuring equitable access to care, fostering inclusive healthcare spaces, and preventing disease progression through education, advocacy, and systemic change.
  2. Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) – A dietary and lifestyle strategy to reduce inflammation, support immune health, and promote healing, adapted to honor diverse BIPOC cultural food traditions.

What We Do

We translate our mission into action through five strategic pillars:

  • Awareness – Equity-centered health education to increase understanding and visibility of autoimmune conditions in BIPOC communities.
  • Advocacy – Influencing policy and decision-makers to address systemic disparities in healthcare access and outcomes.
  • Action – Creating collaborative spaces to mobilize efforts, amplify community voices, and implement transformational change.
  • Assessment – Using culturally responsive, data-driven strategies to ensure programs are effective and responsive to community needs.
  • Alignment – Ensuring healthcare systems, policies, and community resources work in harmony with the needs, priorities, and cultures of BIPOC communities.

How Volunteers Help
Volunteers are the backbone of our work. By contributing your time and skills, you help us:

  • Build tools like online forms and surveys to connect people to resources
  • Organize and share event photos that tell our community’s story
  • Support outreach efforts to expand our reach and deepen engagement
  • Create content that helps us educate, advocate, and inspire action

Whether you can offer a few hours for a specific project or want an ongoing role, your skills can help break down barriers, improve health outcomes, and create meaningful change.
