COCI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to create sustainable solutions for vulnerable children. COCI is the only organization in Houston focused exclusively on teenage children of incarcerated parents, providing social, emotional and academic support.

COCI works to help Houston's children of incarcerated parents overcome the trauma, stigma and shame that they experience. Our middle school program, Gaining Empowerment in Middle School (GEMS), focuses on the unique needs of early adolescents.
