Who We Are

As one of Houston’s oldest interfaith service organizations in Houston, IM Houston’s interreligious engagement stands at the heart of our mission to feed 5000+ homebound seniors and their pets daily, resettle refugees fleeing persecution in their homelands, foster interfaith and community dialogue and understanding, and transform our community through volunteerism.

What We Do

As a core pillar of IM Houston, the Interfaith Relations and Community Partnerships department, affectionately known as IRCP, connects people of faith, and of no faith, in the agency’s important work of creating a more respectful, connected, and caring society. We are a diverse community, and what we have found is that, regardless of how we define ourselves religiously or non-religiously, there is a spark within each of us to connect, learn, share, and serve and to change our community for the good.

Through innovative, interactive, informative, impactful, and fun community programming, dialogues, vital conversations, tours, vigils, and service, we help people do just that! We help people:

  • Learn about each other, important societal issues, and how to have respectful conversations with people who have different perspectives.
  • Work together for a more just society and in caring support of our community’s most vulnerable.
  • Expand their “cultural and religious literacy” to help prevent stereotypes and generalizations and fear about the other.
