Nurses & First Aid Administration

CHS is the home of the Melinda Webb School for deaf children. Sometimes students are dropped off for school and begin to feel sick later in the day. Currently, the school does not have a nurse on staff and is seeking skilled volunteers to help us meet the first aid needs of its students for the Fall 2017-Spring 2018 school year.

We have two nursing positions available. In the first, volunteers will set their own schedule to administer first aid to clients at the center. Volunteers may commit to as little or as much time as they would like 8AM-10AM and 1PM-3PM, Monday through Friday. In the second position, volunteers will create a weekly schedule in which they are available to answer their phone and provide basic nursing advice, rather than coming into the center.

General Requirements:

  • CPR Certification
  • One Orientation – held the first Thursday of every month at 4 PM
  • Volunteer Release Agreement
  • Privacy Attest Agreement
  • Background Check & Finger Print Screening*

*The background check is paid for by CHS. The finger print screening is approximately $40 and must be paid up front by the volunteer, but may be reimbursed by the center.
