Volunteer: Cat Caretakers needed at the Katy PetSmart Cat Adoption Center

We need volunteers to cover both weekday and evening cat care shifts for the cats that stay at the Cat Adoption Center at the Katy I-10/Fry PetSmart and the Parkwest Katy PetSmart.

PETSMART - I-10/Fry - 19945 Katy Frwy, Houston, TX 77094                                                             PETSMART - Shoppes at Parkwest - 24600 Katy Fwy, Katy, TX 77493

It takes about an hour to feed, scoop litter boxes, straighten up their cages and give the kitties attention too.

Times are flexible - mornings around 9 or 10 is the preferred time.
Evenings, the preferred time is between 5 and 7.

We ask volunteers to cover one shift per week (but if you want to do more, that's great too).
Volunteers need to be 18 or older.

We need regular, weekly volunteers for weekdays & weekends.

We need more volunteers for stand-by to help fill in for cat care when necessary during the week and to help with adoptions on the weekend any time from 9am-6pm on Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sunday.

We also need foster homes for kittens & cats while they are waiting for a spot to open at the Pet Adoption Center at both Katy PetSmarts.

Please let us know if you are available for any of the weekday or evening cat care shifts or weekend shifts or if you can provide a foster home.

Volunteer: Puppies & dogs need a ride to weekend adoption events

We need help with transporting puppies and dogs to and from adoption events on weekends and also to & from vet appointments and shelter pick ups through the week.

Larger vehicles - Full to mid-size SUVs and trucks are needed and also smaller 4 door vehicles are needed for weekend adoption events.

Smaller cars are big enough for vet drop off and pick up and shelter pick up during the week.

Weekend adoption events:

They need to be picked up at one location in the Missouri City area and transported to the Katy, Pearland & Sugar Land PetSmarts.  They also need to be picked up at the end of the day at each location and transported back to the Missouri City area.

You can volunteer to transport for one location on Saturday and/or Sunday for both ways or one way. You can volunteer for either day this weekend. You don't have to volunteer every weekend.

Volunteers need to be 18 or older.

We will need to know what type of vehicle you have. Larger & mid-size vehicles are needed for weekend adoptions.

The puppies and dogs will be in transport crates. We usually just have puppies and dogs that need transport to adoptions on the weekends.

Volunteer: Teach a Summer ESL Class!

MAM is looking for friendly and engaging volunteers to teach our Summer 2017 ESL classes to eager and dedicated adults! Teaching experience of any kind is preferred but not required. You do not have to be bilingual to teach the class and must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Classes begin the week of June 5th and run through the week of July 31st. Classes are held on either a Monday/Wednesday or a Tuesday/Thursday. We'd prefer that you teach both classes but we are open to you teaching one of the two classes per week.

Remaining openings include an evening class (6:30-9pm) on a Tuesday/Thursday or on a Wednesday (6-8:30pm). Classes are held at our location or at a church which is approximately 2 miles from our location.

Support, materials and training are provided by MAM ESL Staff.  As an ESL volunteer, you will truly make a difference in the lives of others!

If you would like to help or have further questions, please contact Pam Shirk at pshirk@maministries.org or call 713-574-7540. Thank you!
