Volunteer: Transporting pets during the week and for adoption events on weekends

We need help with transporting pets to and from adoption events on weekends and also to & from vet appointments through the week.

Smaller cars are big enough for vet drop off and pick up and shelter pick up during the week.

Weekend adoption events:

They need to be picked up at one location in the Missouri City area and transported to the Katy, Pearland & Missouri City PetSmarts.  They also need to be picked up at the end of the day at each location and transported back to the Missouri City area.

You can volunteer to transport for one location on Saturday and/or Sunday for both ways or one way. You can volunteer for either day on any weekend. You don't have to volunteer every weekend.

Volunteers need to be 18 or older.

We will need to know what type of vehicle you have. Larger vehicles are needed for weekend adoptions.

The puppies and dogs & kittens and cats will be in transport crates. We usually just have puppies and dogs that need transport to adoptions on the weekends.

Volunteer: Work from home to help save dogs and cats - Transport Coordinator Needed

Houston Pets Alive! (HPA!) is seeking a volunteer to assist with coordinating transportation for our dogs and cats when they are pulled from the shelter. Many times fosters agree to take an animal in, but are unable to get to the shelter before the close of business. Getting the dogs out of the shelter that day is essential since we pull from the euthanasia list. The transport coordinator's responsibilities would be to reach out to a team of volunteers willing to assist with transport, find someone for the job and coordinate with the shelter, transport volunteer and new foster parent. The Transport Coordinator would also assist with scheduling transportation for vet appointments as needed. This job can be done from home!    Houston Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 animal rescue. We use proven success tactics from other no kill cities, like Austin, to fill in gaps where resources are needed the most. Our focus is on high volume, high quality adoptions, high volume, high quality spay and neuter, political advocacy and community education.

We currently help the pets who are at risk of being put to sleep in a shelter. The animals in our program are those who have been passed over by other rescue groups and shelters’ adoption programs and have no other option. Therefore, we are complimentary to other rescue efforts.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Volunteer: Help dogs and cats find forever homes by writing bios!

Houston Pets Alive! (HPA!) is seeking volunteers to help us write bios of our dogs and cats. The bios will be posted on our website and Petfinder. These bios are what market our animals to the public. Seeking creative writers who can capture the essence of each dog based on the descriptions we receive from their foster parents. Work can be done from home.    Houston Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 animal rescue.
