The River Performing And Visual Arts Center

Who We Are

The River is here to welcome everyone to the singing, spinning, spectacular world of theatre- because the power of performance extends well beyond the stage. It enhances social and motor skills, confidence, creativity... and it's downright fun. To bring the joys of music, art, dance, and drama to all families, TUTS provides accessible, affordable fine arts education for children and young adults with disabilities, chronic illnesses or are economically disadvantaged. Siblings are also welcome to share in the smiles.


What We Do

The River offers year-round, barrier-free classes in music, art, drama and dance for students with disabilities. Programs include:

  • Saturday Mornings: 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM during fall and spring.
  • Young Adult Program: 10:30 AM-12:30 PM Students Ages 18-35- held on Saturday mornings at The River
  • Summer Camp: Six one-week summer camp sessions, Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM. 
  • Classes in the Community: Hospitals, schools and social service organizations receive classes in fine arts.
